Job summary

Cartesia in the United States seeks a native-level French linguist to serve as the primary language resource for voice AI. You will own your language end to end, including auditing data, monitoring product performance, and executing projects requiring linguistic expertise.

You will operate independently across workstreams, coordinating with the Human Evals Manager and annotators, and you will run calibration sessions and develop onboarding materials for new contributors.

Qualifications

• Native-level proficiency in French as spoken in France.
• Experience with data annotation, transcription, or language quality assurance.
• Strong foundation in linguistics with the ability to apply phonetics, prosody and intonation.
• Strong written English; guidelines and communications are in English.
• Ability to write clear, structured instructions and actionable feedback.
• Comfortable with data and metrics such as inter-rater agreement scores and audit templates.
• Self-directed and able to manage feedback cycles without close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Answer annotator questions and cascade updates to guidelines.
• Audit data and language quality, and prepare QA reports.
• Listen to annotator audio and assess pronunciation, prosody, and naturalness.
• Coordinate with the Human Evals Manager on deliverables and timelines.
• Lead calibration meetings and create onboarding materials for new annotators.
