Job summary

This is a safety‑sensitive, physically demanding role requiring 24/7 on‑call availability and union affiliation after training. Conductor Trainees start on the extra board; minimum $240 per shift during training; first-year conductors around $70k; long‑term earning potential around $84k.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Must pass pre‑employment FRA drug and alcohol screening.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Experience with long hours or irregular shifts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and inspect trains, railcars, and equipment for safe operation.
• Operate remote control locomotives and perform coupling, alignment, hand brakes, and passenger car riding tasks.
• Communicate effectively with crews, dispatchers, and yard controllers.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with FRA and company safety regulations.
• Report to work with 90 minutes notice and meet physical requirements.
