Job summary

Massachusetts Coastal Railroad LLC is seeking a Railroad Freight Train Conductor for Southwestern Massachusetts. This at-will position includes comprehensive training, competitive pay, and opportunities for growth.

The role reports to the Trainmaster and involves operating trains safely, coordinating with dispatch, and maintaining infrastructure. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass DOT exams, and readiness to work in loud environments in various locations such as

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Experience on a railroad is preferred but training is provided.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety rules, procedures, and regulations.
• Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills.
• Must pass DOT Physical and Audio/Visual Exams.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily locomotive inspections.
• Prepare daily reports and switch lists manually or on computer.
• Follow NORAC rules, safety guidelines and time schedules.
• Communicate with Dispatch and yard workers about stops and delays.
• Read signals and railroad bulletins to operate the locomotive safely.
• Assist in maintenance of railroad facilities and tracks.
• Cross-train with other departments; may flag/RWIC.
• Work location varies: Taunton, Onset, Hyannis, Wareham.
