Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Rail Bridge Engineer to support our Freight Rail Market Sector. You will work on rail bridges and structures, perform design calculations, and develop project details while collaborating with clients and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree with potential for PE licensure, hands-on experience in Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D, plus strong communication and project management abilities. Travel for site visits may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; PE license or ability to obtain in other jurisdictions.
• Hands-on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D.
• Strong communication and project management skills; able to work independently and in teams.
• Experience with railroad design guidelines, specifications and criteria preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve in a technical role on rail bridges and structures engineering/design projects.
• Perform structural calculations and develop design details using specialized software.
• Support project managers with proposals, scope, budgets and schedules.
• Travel for client visits, site visits, and construction inspections as needed.
