Job summary

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is seeking a Freight Handler Lead for the Salt Lake City, UT facility. The role emphasizes safety, accountability, and hands-on leadership to complete daily warehouse duties.

The position requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a shift from 2:30pm to 10:30pm, Monday–Friday. Direct reports: none. Non-exempt, full-time. Benefits available after 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age.
• Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Occasional lifting up to 90 lbs.
• Forklift experience – preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience – preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

SHIFT: Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10:30pm PAY: $23/hr REPORTS TO: Operations Supervisor DIRECT REPORTS: No LOCATION: Salt Lake City, UT

JOB SUMMARY

CrossCountry Freight Solutions is looking for a Freight Handler Lead that has a safety-first mindset and effective communications skills. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Ensure all team members are on time and ready for work.
• Inspect the dock to make sure it is a clean and safe work environment.
• Coordinate dock operations with dispatch.
• Meet with Operations Supervisors for daily assignments.
• Assist with loading and unloading a wide variety of freight.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• At least 18 years of age
• Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to ninety (90) pounds
• Previous forklift experience – preferred
• Previous supervisory or management experience - preferred
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to perform frequent squatting and crouching to handle freight
• Must be able to safely maneuver freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart with a force of up to 130 pounds with mechanical aid in various environments/conditions.
• Must be able to carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for a distance of up to 20 feet.
• Must be able to help load and unload full trailers of freight weighing up to 45,000 pounds with mechanical aid.
• Must be able to open and close cargo doors and to climb into and out of vehicles.
