2nd Shift Forklift Driver | Team Lead

Mon - Fri 9:00pm to 5:00am

YOUR ROLE

Lead lower-level assigned Freight Handlers, perform manual loading and unloading of freight using pallet jacks, hand trucks, or forklifts, and handle general labor and warehouse maintenance. Take full charge of the assigned receiving area, knowing the proper location and receiving process for all accounts. Model and act in accordance with our guiding principles and core values.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

1. Operate vehicle to transport materials to and from destinations safely and efficiently.
2. Receive cargo from trucks by hand or using manual equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, or forklifts.
3. Verify and record the count and condition of cargo received, noting any discrepancies.
4. Record receipts in appropriate forms and log books.
5. Ensure proper documentation is attached and resolve discrepancies.
6. Label freight accurately for destination.
7. Sort cargo received by account or location and store properly.
8. Know handling requirements and documentation for special cargo, including hazardous materials.
9. Perform forklift operations, including handling heavy and oversized items.
10. Develop load plans and anticipate equipment needs for shipments.
11. Maintain excellent service to internal and external customers.
12. Manage at least one major account and be cross-trained on others.
13. Assist with light packing duties and export boxing when needed.
14. Distribute work assignments, provide direction, and train team members.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• High School Diploma or GED; minimum three years related experience; six months supervisory experience; industry experience preferred.
• Forklift Driver Certification; valid driver’s license preferred.
• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently; operate heavy equipment including forklifts, hand trucks, and pallet jacks.
• Basic math skills and ability to complete documentation accurately.
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer needs; command workflow processes; problem-solving skills.
