Job summary

FedEx Freight in Independence, KY is seeking a Dockworker to transport freight across dock areas to and from trailers and assist with loading. You will operate forklift or pallet jack, verify freight documentation, secure loads, and assist customers with paperwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or better.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Prior warehousing or freight handling experience preferred.
• Able to lift/carry up to 100 pounds and operate dock equipment.
• Basic math and clear communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Move freight using forklift, pallet jack, or hand truck.
• Verify freight documents match description (type, weight, hazmat).
• Secure freight inside trailers with pallets, straps, or rope.
• Recoup/repair damaged freight as needed.
• Complete required documentation and reports.
• Assist customers with freight documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Other duties as assigned.
