A high level of physical stamina and attention to safety are essential to succeed in this fast-paced environment. The role offers a piece-rate pay of $0.65 per unit with a guaranteed minimum wage and overtime as required by law.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 lbs continuously.
• Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and complete documentation accurately.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and manually stack inventory from containers and trailers onto pallets in accordance with operational standards.
• Utilize proper inventory stacking techniques to ensure loads are stable, secure, and safe for transport and storage.
• Sort and stage inventory accurately based on shipping and receiving documentation.
• Verify trailer suitability and ensure alignment with load specifications.
• Accurately complete paperwork and maintain precise inventory counts.
• Execute daily production schedules as directed by supervisors or site management.
• Operate manual pallet jacks to move pallets safely within the warehouse.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company policies, site procedures, and safety protocols.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs.

About this position

Xpedient is a full-service third-party logistics (3PL) provider supporting a diverse client base across warehousing, transportation management, supply chain solutions, order fulfillment, and labor services.

Summary

We are seeking dependable and hardworking Freight Handlers to join our warehouse team in Shorewood, Illinois. In this role, you will unload, sort, stage, and move furniture products safely and efficiently while maintaining quality and productivity standards. This role requires a high level of physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and operational standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced warehouse environment and contributes to maintaining productivity and accuracy across daily operations.

Compensation

This position is paid at a piece rate of $0.65 per unit. Employees are guaranteed payment of at least the applicable Illinois minimum wage for all hours worked each pay period. Employees may earn more than the guaranteed minimum based of $15 per hour on productivity. Overtime compensation will be paid as required by law.

Minimum Qualifications and Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 70 lbs continuously
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods
• Ability to exert significant physical effort, including core and lower back strength
• Capability to work in a warehouse environment with varying conditions
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
