POSITION OVERVIEW:
Transport freight across the dock area to/from trailers for loading and unloading.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Perform freight handling using motorized and manual equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Verify documentation matches freight details (type, weight, hazardous materials) using electronic or manual systems.
• Secure freight inside trailers with appropriate tools (pallets, straps, ropes).
• Recoup or repair damaged freight as necessary.
• Complete required documentation and reports accurately.
• Assist customers with freight and documentation as needed.
• Perform hostling duties if required.
• Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Experience in warehousing, freight handling, or forklift operation preferred.
• Experience with hostler/yard mule duties preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and count accurately.
• Basic communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Ability to lift and carry freight of varying weights, including dock plates (~100 lbs) and trailer doors (~75 lbs).
• Ability to bend, twist, squat, and push/pull freight throughout shifts.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Previous dock or warehouse experience preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Dock environment with exposure to weather, fumes, dust, noise.
• Hours may vary based on operational needs.
• Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with frequent contact with personnel.

Shift Time: 0100 - 0930

Pay: Starting at $24.89/hour
