Summary

The Freight Forwarder Import role involves managing the importation of goods via air and ocean, including customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, and delivery coordination. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to liaise effectively with airlines, steamship lines, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities

1. Manage the import process for air and ocean freight, including customs clearance and final delivery.
2. Coordinate with airlines, steamship lines, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure punctual delivery.
3. Track shipments and update customers accordingly.
4. Prepare and submit necessary documentation for customs clearance, such as invoices and bills of lading.
5. Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
6. Maintain excellent relationships with clients and provide superior customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or related fields preferred; import experience highly desirable.
• Strong mathematical skills for cost and rate calculations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of air/ocean freight logistics, customs regulations, and trade laws.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with logistics software preferred.

Additional Information
