Old Dominion Freight Line is seeking a dedicated Dockworker in Orange, CA. The role focuses on safe loading and unloading of freight, using forklifts and manual handling to support warehouse operations and timely deliveries. You will follow DOT guidelines, secure cargo, and work to uphold OD’s promises of reliable service.

The position emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to safety as you handle freight and coordinate with service center staff to keep shipments moving efficiently.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience with safe lifting and transport procedures.
• Knowledge of loading techniques incl. tight and cross loading.
• Familiarity with freight forms such as shipping orders, manifests, bills, and reports.
• Ability to use a dock yard management system.
• Availability to work all required shifts.
• Ability to operate handheld tablet.

Responsabilidades

• Load and unload freight on trailers using forklifts or manually.
• Transport freight throughout the service center.
• Monitor shipment locations with the yard system.
• Read and complete shipping forms and reports.
• Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as needed.
• Insure the quality loading of all trailers.
• Secure freight inside trailers with straps and airbags.
• Frequent contact with service center personnel.
• Employees may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
