Job summary

Saia is seeking a Dock Worker to sort and handle freight in and out of over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers and straight trucks. You’ll operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight, following DOT regulations and safety procedures.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, and availability for varied shifts including nights and weekends. Pay rate $24.70–$28.15 per hour, with competitive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform shipping tasks.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks and other equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operates dock tools to secure freight and maintain straps, bars, air bags, cardboard, and dunnage.
• Loads, recoups, rewraps, and stacks freight as needed.
• Verifies shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading and unloading.
