Job summary

Saia LTL Freight is seeking a Dock Worker to sort and handle freight for over-the-road equipment, containers, city trailers, and straight trucks. You will operate forklifts and pallet jacks to load and unload freight, ensuring secure handling and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, being at least 18, and legal work authorization in the United States. Pay ranges from $25.75 to $29.40 per hour with benefits and equal opportunity employment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Read, write, communicate and comprehend English to perform shipping-document tasks.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment in compliance with regulations.
• Operates dock tools to secure freight and maintain straps, bars, air bags, cardboard, and dunnage.
• Loads, recoups, rewraps, and stacks freight as needed.
• Verifies shipments by reading labels and securing freight for loading/unloading.
• Follows bill of lading and quality control procedures to ensure timely and cost-efficient shipments.
• Logs and reports shortages and damages to freight.
• Promotes and maintains a safe and clean work environment.
