Job summary

CSX Corporation in the United States is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, place rail cars for loading/unloading, and makeup/break down trains in yards or customer facilities.

New hire conductors are eligible for retention bonuses after year 1 and year 2, with amounts of $3000 and $2000 respectively, subject to the applicable agreement. A drug test, medical exam, and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug test, hair follicle and urine, medical exam and background check.
• Must live within or relocate within 50 miles of posted location; relocation assistance not offered.

Responsibilities

• Safely coordinate train crews on a freight train.
• Place rail cars to facilitate loading and unloading.
• Makeup/breakdown trains in a rail yard, customer facility or similar location.
• Be prepared for possible pipeline placement during the hiring process.
