Job summary

CSX Corporation in Portland, Maine is seeking a Freight Conductor to safely coordinate train crews, place rail cars for loading/unloading, and makeup/breakdown trains in rail yards or customer facilities.

The role requires passing drug tests and background checks; relocation within 50 miles is not offered; retention bonuses are available after year 1 and year 2, subject to terms of the direct hire agreement. Pipeline possibility may be discussed during hiring.

Qualifications

• Must pass drug test (hair follicle and urine) and background check.
• Must live within or be willing to relocate within 50 miles of posted location.

Responsibilities

• Safely coordinate train crews on a freight train.
• Place rail cars to facilitate loading and unloading.
• Make up/breakdown trains in a rail yard, customer facility or similar locations.
