Job summary

XPO Logistics in Seattle is seeking an Inventory/Classification Specialist to review inspection reports, verify shipment details, and correct NMFC-based descriptions to ensure accurate classification and revenue integrity.

Qualified candidates will have 4 years of work or military experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to use the internet for research. The role requires flexibility for day, night, and weekend shifts, with comprehensive health and retirement benefits.

Qualifications

  • Able to explain and document classification corrections for all involved parties.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Able to effectively navigate the internet using specific keywords for research.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Review inspection reports to identify potential issues.
  • Conduct inspections of shipments on the dock utilizing handheld devices.
  • Review BOL and billing descriptions to verify accuracy.
  • Gather information related to the shipment, including dimensions, pictures, and commodity characteristics.
  • Research commodity information using the National Motor Freight Classification (NMFC) for applicable description and class.
  • Issue document corrections based on the applicable provisions from the NMFC.
  • Upload documents/pictures into the image system for review.
  • Maintain the reports necessary to measure corrections activity and revenue recovery.

  • Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry knowledge and experience
Pay & Benefits

Pay starts at $24.64 per hour.

Typical Day Responsibilities
  • Review inspection reports to identify potential issues

Physical Demands
  • Lift objects of various shapes, sizes and weights frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 75 lbs.
