Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers in Brattleboro, VT is seeking a physically active Freezer Selector. You’ll pick, gather and prepare orders for delivery to local customers.

Training is paid and structured to lead to higher pay with performance bonuses; full-time year-round schedule with a 4-day workweek and no Saturdays. Starting at $26/hr during training (base $24 + $2 freezer premium), post-graduation pay can reach $33/hr with incentives.

Qualifications

• General Equivalency Diploma - General Studies or High School Diploma - General Studies.

Responsibilities

• Picking items by using order sheets or an audio headset.
• Stacking items on a pallet for wrapping and loading at the bay doors.
• Ensuring accuracy to orders while adhering to safety standards.
• Operating walkie-rider or electric pallet jack to move cases and apply selection labels.
• Wrapping items using proper techniques to prevent damage.
• Notifying supervisor of quantity/description differences.
• Performing equipment inspections and completing forms.
• Frequent safe lifting of varying weights and heights.
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures.

Experienced Freezer selectors who complete accelerated 5-week training can earn up to $5,000 in bonuses – $2,500 upon completion, plus an additional $2,500 at your 1 year anniversary.

What’s in it for you? You will contribute by:

• Picking various items by using order sheets or an audio headset


• Stacking items on a pallet for wrapping and loading at the bay doors


• Ensuring accuracy to orders while adhering to our safety standards


• Operating a double walkie-rider or electric pallet jack to remove cases of products from storage rack & place on pallet and apply selection labels to appropriate cases (not in all cases)


• Utilizing proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of product to prevent damages


• Informing Supervisor of any differences in case quantity and/or description


• Performing equipment inspections & completion of appropriate form


• Frequent safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels


• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

Physical Demands

• Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift


• Walking between 6-12 miles per day on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.


• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more


• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead


• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height


• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
