Job summary

Wells Enterprises (a Ferrero Company) is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support robotics and material-handling equipment in a cold storage environment. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Kuka robots, conveyors, palletizers, and related systems while upholding food safety standards and quality procedures.

The role requires mechanical and electrical maintenance experience, along with the ability to read drawings and operate a CMMS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; journeyman's license or a 2-year degree preferred.
• Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience is essential.
• Ability to read, write, and solve math problems; CMMS experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to Food Safety and Quality Programs and Processes.
• Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, and perform preventive/predictive maintenance on robotics equipment.
• Maintain equipment in the Dock and Load-out areas, including doors, racks, dock levels, and conveyors; welding as needed.
• Troubleshoot and service the Sprinkler System, piping, and valves.
• Coordinate maintenance plans with other teams and review maintenance data for trends and improvements.
• Set up and replace High Frequency Drives on robotic, crane, Intec, and palletizer systems.

The Role

Under supervision, performs and inspects preventive maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery. This is a position that requires the ability to constantly learn new skills for maintaining and repairing Robotic equipment in an everchanging field of expertise. Must possess ability to apply pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical principles to all equipment in a cold storage warehouse environment.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure compliance to Food Safety and Quality Programs and Processes.
• Complete all job duties in accordance with any applicable: Safety Procedures/Policies, Work Documents such as: Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Works, Talking Points, Best Practices, Verbal Instructions from Freezer leadership
• Robotics- With assistance as needed, troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance and overhaul all equipment associated with the Kuka Robots. This will include the Trunk Lines, all pallet conveyors, product conveyors, Spirals, and Sealers/Wrappers. Assist Process Controls with modifications and creation of PAL files.
• Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance and overhaul all equipment. This will include diagnosing mechanical and electrical circuitry malfunctions using visual and auditory senses, test systems and technical publications for area of responsibility.
• Dock and Load-out areas- Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance and overhaul all equipment associated with the Dock and Load-out areas. This will include all Dock Locks, Dock Plates, overhead doors, Racking System, walk through doors, and Dock Levelers. Employee must have the ability to performing welding tasks as needed throughout entire area of responsibility.
• Sprinkler System- Troubleshoot, replace, disassemble, repair, perform scheduled and unscheduled preventive and predictive maintenance and overhaul all equipment associated with the Sprinkler System. This will include Sprinkler heads, all piping, and valves.
• Coordinates with supply, production, and other engineering personnel activities to improve procedures and resolve problems. Coordinate maintenance plans to meet operational commitments. Review maintenance data collection summaries to determine trends and production effectiveness. Active participant in learning continuous improvement basics and recommends improvements as identified.
• With assistance as needed is responsible for replacement and set-up of High Frequency Drives on all Robotic, Crane, Intec, and Palletizer systems. This will include trouble shooting and repair of High Frequency Drives.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent GED, journeyman's license, or 2 year degree preferred
• Previous mechanical experience is essential. Previous electrical and maintenance experience is preferred.
• Knowledge – Emerging understanding of concepts and applications of mechanics. Must pass the written assessment of Electric Tech 1.
• Skills – Must be able to read, write, and solve math problems. Must be capable of generating and processing work on a computerized maintenance management system. Must have adequate computer skills and manual dexterity. Should have basic ability with small hand tools. Must participate in further education and certifications as deemed appropriate for this Tech Level.
• Abilities – Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings including P&ID drawings. Should also be able to work independently and have good communication skills. Ability to work in the CMMS system.
