Job summary

Simmons Foods is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Associate to transfer product, pick customer orders and load trailers, ensuring accuracy and safety. You will read and apply WMS instructions, stage orders, verify pallets, and document movements while supporting a cohesive team focused on quality and efficiency.

This role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, using PPE such as freezer suits and boots, and maintaining product accountability throughout the logistics process.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of warehouse experience.
• Working knowledge of WMS and MS Office (Word/Excel).

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply WMS order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer.
• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Enter data into WMS computer systems.
• Participates as a member of the Team.

Purpose of the Position

To transfer product into and out of storage areas, pick product for customer orders, and load product to trailers.

Essential Position Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions adversely affect the customer.
• Recognize damaged product at any point in the warehousing process and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location.
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process.
• Enter data into WMS computer systems.
• Participates as a member of the Team.
• Participates in ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies; coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members. Attends appropriate team meetings. As a member of the Team, fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc. Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues and actively look for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.

Physical Activities

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and walk in high traffic areas

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Will use Freezer suit, composite/steel toe boots, and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Technical Experience

1-2 warehouse experience. Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel) Working knowledge of WMS systems

Industry Experience

1 year related warehouse/freezer experience or 1 year experience with powered lift equipment.
