Job summary

FreshPoint, Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Associate to handle receiving, put-away, loading/unloading, depalletizing, and replenishment in freezer, cooler, and dry environments, following PWMs and safety standards.

You will use RF scanning and the warehouse management system to record data, complete certification, and work under a supervisor to reduce shrink and maintain accuracy. The role requires lifting up to 100 pounds, operating forklifts/pallet jacks, and maintaining clean, organized stockage

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Receive pallets and ensure they meet defined requirements.
  • Enter/scan LPN, catch-weight, manufacture date, expiration date into the WMS using RF equipment.
  • Record piece counts and weights against BOLs and invoices in the WMS.
  • Inspect products for shortages, damage, or quality issues and report to supervisor.
  • Record all overages, shortages and damages on the OS&D form.
  • Verify temperatures for refrigerated and frozen products per PWMs and follow temperature abuse procedures if needed.
  • Document vendor compliance issues using the vendor compliance form.
  • Apply blind LPNs when license plates aren’t provided by manufacturer.
  • Ensure proper operation and reporting of dock doors, plates, lights and locks.
  • Complete receiving certification process and testing.
  • Work with supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink/damage.
  • Maintain neatness of work areas and accurate warehouse locations.
  • Report unfixable/unsafe issues immediately.
  • Enforce safety rules to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Operate MHE safely (forklifts, pallet jacks) and perform daily inspections.
  • Follow PWMs for lifting techniques and safe work practices.
  • Ensure MHE is maintained and cleaned and report needs to supervisor.
  • Use warehouse computers and RF equipment responsibly.
  • Comply with Company policies and applicable laws.

Job description

Summary

Responsible for all general warehouse functions including loading, unloading, manual depalletizing, receiving, put‑away, pulls and replenishment, and selection of product when qualified and as needed in accordance with Preferred Work Methods (PWMs). Each function requires specific equipment and/or process certification. Requires working in freezer, cooler and dry warehouse environments with extreme cold and/or warm temperatures. Performs all duties safely, accurately and meets set productivity standards and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure pallets received meet defined requirements.
  • Enter/scan accurately upon item receipt the LPN (license plate number), catch‑weight, manufacture date, expiration date, etc., into the warehouse management system utilizing RF equipment.
  • Ensure all item information is appropriately recorded into the warehouse management system by verifying and entering piece count and weights against bills of lading, invoices and other records.
  • Inspect product being moved for shortages, damage, quality, or deterioration of packing and report to supervisor.
  • Record all overages, shortages and damages on the OS&D form.
  • Verify refrigerated (cooler) and frozen product temperatures are taken according to established PWMs. Follow temperature abuse process and established PWMs if product temperature is out of accepted tolerance range.
  • Record and communicate vendor compliance issues by completing the vendor compliance form during receipt according to established PWMs.
  • Apply blind LPNs according to established PWMs if manufacturer hasn’t provided license plates.
  • Ensure proper operation of dock doors, plates, lights and locks. Report repair or service needs to supervisor to avoid damage or an unsafe condition.
  • Must successfully complete the receiving certification process and testing.
  • Work effectively with immediate supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink/damage (product loss).
  • Responsible for the neatness and cleanliness of assigned work areas and travel aisles, and the accuracy of warehouse locations.
  • Report any unfixable/unsafe issues immediately to supervisor.
  • Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries.
  • Operate appropriate MHE, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, in a safe and orderly manner to eliminate accidents and injuries.
  • Observe proper lifting techniques and physical work practices in accordance with established PWMs.
  • Ensure that MHE is maintained (perform daily inspection) and clean; report repair or service needs to supervisor to minimize equipment damage and downtime.
  • Use warehouse computers and RF equipment in a safe and professional manner to avoid damage to equipment.
  • Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies (i.e. attendance, Code of Business Conduct & Ethics, Associate Handbook, etc.).
  • Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e. OSHA, HACCP, etc.).
  • Supports food safety policies, standard operating procedures, and prerequisite food safety control programs that meet legal and quality requirements and industry best practices as defined in our Food Safety Commitment documentation.
  • Performs other warehouse duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred; six months previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred. Material handling equipment experience preferred. Reach truck experience preferred. Crown and/or Raymond reach truck experience a plus.

  • Must read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must read and write simple correspondence.
  • Must speak effectively in one‑on‑one and in a small group situations and respond to questions from managers, associates, and peers.
Mathematical Skills
  • Must add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Must apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Certification on material handling equipment is required, or the ability to become certified.
Physical Requirements of the Position
  • Regularly use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequently stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. Regularly stoop, kneel, crouch or sit. Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
  • Job performed in warehouse/operations environment. Frequently exposed to fast moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment, extreme cold or heat in freezer/cooler warehouse environments including temperature of zero degrees. Regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, contained toxic or caustic chemicals, low voltage electrical equipment and vibration. Noise level usually loud.
Work Hours
  • Full‑time position. Ability to work a varying schedule that might include shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays. Hours may vary or change based on customer order, departmental or business requirements.

  • No travel required.
