Job summary

S. Rothschild & Co., Inc. is seeking a technical design professional in New York to support all apparel categories. You will create tech packs, graded specs, BOMs, and fit documentation using Excel, and assist with fittings to ensure consistency and quality across size ranges.

You will collaborate with factories and overseas partners to address fit, construction, quality, and execution issues, while maintaining documentation and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design or related field.
• 3–5+ years of technical design experience across all apparel categories.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit development.
• Experience with fabric performance and manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical design support across all apparel categories, ensuring optimal fit, construction, quality, and consistency.
• Create and maintain detailed tech packs, graded specifications, BOMs, and fit documentation using Excel.
• Assist with and support fittings, providing clear, detailed fit comments focused on consistency, functionality, quality, and commercialization.
• Evaluate and measure samples to ensure accuracy and consistency across size ranges.
• Communicate effectively with factories and overseas partners regarding fit corrections, construction details, quality issues, and execution solutions.
• Maintain fit, construction, and quality standards across product categories.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation, specifications, and comments.
• Manage multiple styles, categories, priorities, and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide additional technical design support based on customer and business needs.

Skills & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of technical design experience across all apparel categories.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, fit development, fabric performance, and manufacturing processes.
• Strong understanding of wovens, knits, denim, activewear/swim, and overall garment construction, fit standards, and product quality.
• Proven ability to assist with fittings and support style development through TOP approval.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and global vendors.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple styles, product categories, and seasonal deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Hourly Rate: $30-40 per hour, based on experience.

40 Hour per week/until end of January.
