Freelance Restaurant Consultant (Hillstone Experience Preferred)

Overview:

We’re seeking a freelance restaurant consultant with direct experience atHillstone Restaurant Groupto help shape and scale a new hospitality concept. This role is ideal for someone who understands refined casual dining and can translate that into efficient, scalable systems—first through aghost kitchen model, and eventually into abrick-and-mortar franchise format.

Scope of Work:

  • Menu development with a focus on food quality, consistency, and operational simplicity
  • Refinement of food preparation processes for high-volume ghost kitchen production
  • Guidance on kitchen workflows, staffing needs, and equipment setup
  • Recommendations for packaging and delivery optimization
  • Development of SOPs that can be adapted for future brick-and-mortar locations
  • Strategic input on scaling the concept for franchise replication

Requirements:

  • Prior experience at Hillstone Restaurant Group (required)
  • 5+ years in restaurant operations, consulting, or culinary R&D
  • Proven experience with ghost kitchens or high-efficiency back-of-house design
  • Understanding of franchise model requirements (especially kitchen design, training, and SOPs)
  • Collaborative working style and ability to work independently
  • Location:Remote, with periodic visits to San Francisco preferred
  • Start Date:Immediate or flexible
  • Duration:Project-based (approx. 4–8 weeks)
  • Compensation:To be discussed (hourly or fixed project fee)
