Job summary

Praxis Design Studio is seeking a freelance web developer to support ongoing updates and development for an existing React-based site. This remote role is open to U.S.-based candidates, with work including front-end updates, troubleshooting, feature development, and general maintenance.

The ideal candidate will translate established designs into polished, responsive web experiences and extend the visual direction across additional pages without requiring detailed mockups for every element.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with React and working within an existing custom codebase.
• Ability to translate provided designs into responsive web layouts.
• Experience deploying and maintaining apps on Render or similar cloud platforms.
• Ability to troubleshoot existing functionality and implement new features as needed.
• Experience with third-party APIs/integrations when necessary.
• Attention to detail; GSAP experience is a plus.

Site is built in React and hosted on Render, with work including a mix of design implementation, front-end updates, troubleshooting, feature development, and general site maintenance.

Design and creative direction will be provided. The ideal developer can translate established designs into polished, responsive web experiences while also confidently extending that visual direction across additional pages and features without requiring detailed mockups for every element.

Experience & Skills

• Strong experience working with React
• Experience working within and modifying an existing custom codebase
• Ability to accurately translate provided designs into responsive web layouts
• Comfortable deploying and maintaining applications through Render or similar cloud hosting platforms
• Ability to troubleshoot existing functionality and implement new features as needed
• Comfortable working with third-party APIs/integrations when necessary
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with GSAP/website animation is a plus.

This is intended to be an ongoing freelance relationship, with continued needs for feature implementation, site updates, troubleshooting, and general maintenance beyond the initial scope of work.
