Candidates should be fluent in English and other languages, possess interpreting experience, and ideally hold relevant certifications. Piedmont Global Language Solutions (PGLS) offers language services consisting of interpretation, translation, transcription, language instruction, cultural sensitivity training, and localization. Our network of language professionals provides expertise in more than 200 languages, including regional dialects.
PGLS is looking for freelance Interpreters to provide on-site (OSI) and remote (VRI-OPI) language interpretation services in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Colville, Colbert, TriCities (Pasco, Richland, and Kennewick) in Washington, as well as Idaho cities along the WA border (Post Falls, Coeur d'Alene, Moscow, Lewiston) and cities North of Spokane, WA (Chewelah, Deer Park, Newport, Kettle Falls), as well as Wenatchee, Ephrata, Quincy, Yakima, Ellensburg, Moses Lake, Ritzville, and Othello.
Languages needed include: Marshallese, Spanish, Russian, Karen, Burmese, Pashto, Dari, Kinyarwanda, Swahili, Vietnamese, Arabic, Ukrainian, Tigrinya, Turkish, Mandarin, Chuukese, Punjabi, Bosnian, Amharic, Albanian, Thai, Laotian, Punjabi, Turkish, Tagalog and Portuguese.
If you are proficient in other languages (even if the language is not included in the list) we encourage you to apply as well.
These are “1099” (Independent Contractor) positions.
Interpreter Functions:
Minimum Qualifications:
•Interpreting experience, paid or as a volunteer
• Two (2) relevant professional references that can vouch for the candidate’s work as an interpreter OR one (1) relevant professional reference and one (1) relevant professional letter of recommendation
• Proficiency in English and target language.
Desired but not required:
If available, interpreters should provide proof of:
• Certifications
• Test results from other organizations (testing centers, other LSPs, etc.).
