Job summary

Hanna Interpreting Services is seeking bilingual and multilingual individuals to operate as freelance interpreters in a 1099 Independent Contractor role. Interpreters can set their own availability and accept appointments based on their schedule, with appointments available Mon–Fri, 8 am–5 pm.

Starting pay is $25 per hour, with compensation depending on language, availability, experience, and demand. This role supports language access across medical, legal, and educational settings.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and the target language with idiomatic understanding.
• Previous interpreting experience, preferably in medical, legal, or educational settings.
• Professionalism, punctuality, and adaptability.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Must be located in and authorized to work in the US (We do not offer visa sponsorship).
• High School Diploma or equivalent; or interpreting certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide interpretation services as a freelance contractor.
• Set your own availability and accept appointments.
• Work on a 1099 independent contractor basis.
• Appointments run Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm.
• Appointments are not guaranteed; offered based on need.
