Overview:
Do Good Work Corporation is a boutique design-build firm based in Southern California, specializing in architectural interiors, custom homes, branded environments, and experiential spaces. We’re looking for a freelance interior designer to support our team during the schematic design phase of several upcoming projects.
This role is ideal for a designer with strong FF&E sensibilities and experience assembling visual design documentation that guides clients through early-phase decisions. We value thoughtful design, clear communication, and beautiful presentations that balance creativity with practical execution.
Responsibilities
Source furniture, finishes, lighting, and materials that align with the project concept and budget
Prepare schematic-level client presentation decks (e.g., mood boards, concept imagery, finish palettes, FF&E narratives)
Create clean, organized spec sheets and documentation to support internal pricing and external client clarity
Organize selections within GatherIt.co
Communicate design intent clearly with our internal team and (occasionally) clients
Work efficiently and independently on fast-turn timelines (1–3 day windows typical for visual documentation)
Qualifications
2–5+ years of interior design experience (freelance or studio-based)
Strong aesthetic sensibility and understanding of materials, furnishings, and finishes
Portfolio that includes schematic-level documentation, FF&E curation, or client presentation decks
Proficiency in Canva, InDesign, Layout, or similar tools; bonus for GatherIt.co or similar spec platforms
Organized, responsive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced design-build environment
Bonus for SoCal-based applicants or those familiar with residential and hospitality/commercial interiors
