Job summary

CBS News and Stations in West Sacramento is seeking a news editor to join CBS 13 and our independent 31. The role requires strong TV news editing experience and a passion for storytelling.

You will work across morning, night, and weekend shifts, with proficiency in non-linear editors and GRASS VALLEY/EDIUS. Strong journalistic judgment and excellent communication are essential.

The CBS owned and operated duopoly in West Sacramento has an immediate opening for a news editor to work for CBS 13 and our independent 31.

Candidates should have a strong background in putting compelling stories together for our viewers. More than three years television news experience required. (Please do not apply if you do not have a background in television news).

Candidates should have a working knowledge of NLE platforms (GRASS VALLEY EDIUS is a plus). Candidates should be flexible enough to work morning’s, nights and weekends at a moment’s notice. We’re looking for storytellers and team players. You must be very creative and have a passion for news. No phone calls please.

The hiring salary range for this position applies to New York, California, Colorado, Washington state, and most other geographies. Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
