Job summary

The Big Ten Network is seeking a Freelance Digital Designer to join their team remotely, with a focus on live social coverage of West Coast events. You will create and update digital graphics, thumbnails, and platform-specific assets for BTN’s social channels and YouTube features.

This freelance role runs September through May, up to 40 hours per week, reporting to the Director, Creative Services, and preferably based in Los Angeles.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience producing digital graphic content.
• Experience with intercollegiate athletics or professional sports teams.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Knowledge of Big Ten Athletics and BTN branding is preferred.
• Affinity for pop culture and video-first platforms.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to West-Coast live event coverage by updating templates and assets for BTN’s social channels.
• Provide design support for the live posting team's needs.
• Create thumbnail art for BTN's YouTube channels to boost engagement.
• Design thumbnails for features like The Journey and Crossover series.
• Help produce marketing artwork for BTN’s direct-to-consumer streaming platform, B1G+.
