Job summary

GSW, powered by Syneos Health is seeking a Freelance Creative Technologist who specializes in Unity and WebGL-driven interactive experiences. You will build and optimize Unity scenes for WebGL, drive scripted sequences with Timeline, and integrate UI, VFX, audio, and logic into a performant package.

Collaborate with artists, designers, and developers in a fast-moving environment, test across browsers and devices, and advocate for efficiency and cross-browser compatibility in all deliverables.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Unity development experience.
• Experience exporting WebGL and optimizing for browser constraints.
• Strong knowledge of Unity Timeline and Animation systems.
• Experience with C# scripting and modular architecture.
• Attention to performance and cross-browser compatibility.
• Excellent communication and ability to work independently.

Role Overview

We’re looking for a Freelance Creative Technologist who is a Unity Generalist with experience in WebGL builds and Timeline-based animation systems. You’ll be working on interactive web experiences that combine animation, physics, and performance-conscious design.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize Unity scenes for WebGL deployment
• Use Timeline to drive scripted sequences, object animations, and environmental effects
• Integrate UI, VFX, audio, and logic in a cohesive, performant package
• Collaborate with artists, designers, and developers in a fast-moving, creative environment
• Debug and test across browsers and hardware configurations

Requirements

• Strong Unity experience (3+ years preferred)
• Proficiency with WebGL export and related constraints (compression, memory usage, etc.)
• Solid knowledge of Unity Timeline and Animation systems
• Experience with C# scripting and modular architecture
• Attention to performance and compatibility, especially in web browser contexts
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently

Bonus Points

• Shader Graph or custom shader experience
• Experience with DOTS or Addressables
• Working knowledge and examples of Unity-adjacent technologies like Three.js would be highly valued.

The anticipated hourly rate for this position is $65-$75, but may vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role.
