Job summary

Journey seeks Creative Directors for our Broadway studio in New York to work on project-specific, temporary contracts. This role focuses on directing narrative and design across interdisciplinary teams.

We are not offering permanent contracts at this time, and remote work is not offered for this opportunity. Ideal candidates have extensive experience leading creative visions, collaborating with designers, and delivering story-driven experiences.

Qualifications

• Approximately 12+ years direct experience as a Creative Director in interdisciplinary design.
• A sharp eye for design excellence and detail.
• Ability to design in a wide range of styles and platforms.
• Demonstrable storytelling approach to visual design.
• Experience leading creative visions and client briefs.
• Experience across multiple design specialisms within Journey’s portfolio.
• Developing partnerships to bring to the company.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary Design & Producing teams to transform ideas into high-quality, multidimensional experiences.
• Attend client meetings, interpret briefs, build narratives and shape achievable creative visions for a wide range of project contexts, including (but not limited to) creative treatments, storyboards, script writing, brief decks and style frames.
• Be comfortable leading areas of projects and/or teams from conception through to execution, ensuring the creative vision meets the client brief, aligns with project objectives and sustains our internal high standards.
• Work with Producers to manage timelines and project evaluation.
• Create presentation materials for existing projects and new business as required.
