Job summary

Crunchy Tech in Charlotte is seeking AV contractors for new installations and service calls across the area. You will perform setup of sound systems, video displays, and control integration per project drawings and safety guidelines.

Candidates should have experience with AV hardware, troubleshooting, and strong communication skills to coordinate with clients and event teams. Opportunities include converting sites for high-performance audiovisual experiences.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Audio Video hardware, software and network troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with control systems such as Crestron and audio DSP platforms.
  • Ability to read technical layouts and schematics; communicate clearly with clients.
  • Willingness to work independently or as part of a team on installations.

Responsibilities

  • Install and set up AV equipment per site plans and drawings.
  • Test, diagnose and resolve media system issues on site.
  • Coordinate audio feeds with video and control systems during events.
  • Run, terminate, and test wiring; ensure clean, labeled rack setups.
  • Prepare equipment for repairs and send for service when needed.

Today, our award-winning, full-service modelhas helped more than 500 clients design, implement, scale, andmanage high-performance audiovisual experiences from the front lobbyto the back office and everywhere in between.

PURPOSEOF POSITION:
We are currently sourcing new AV contractors inyour area and would love to add you to our list for newinstallations and/or service calls.

Contractorscould be asked to set up and install equipment such as:

o Soundspeakers,Microphones. Amplifiers

o Videomonitors

o Running,terminating, testing & connecting wires and cables

o Soundand mixing boards for events and functions such as concerts, sportsevents, meetings, conventions & presentations

o ControlSystems, i.e. Crestron

o DigitalSignal Processing, i.e. Peavey Media Matrix, BSS Soundweb, Rane

o VideoDistribution, i.e. HD over IP, AV over Cat5, HDBaseT

o Setup and wire racks.

o Monitorsound feeds to ensure quality.

o Ensureequipment is installed according to designated layout, i.e. PDF andDWG plans & callouts.

o Testand resolve equipment issues.

o Diagnoseand correct media system problems.

o Coordinateaudio feeds with television images.

o Sendin equipment for repairs as needed.

o Switchvideo input sources from one source to another.

o Cleanaudio and video equipment and store properly.

Requirements

Toperform this job successfully, an individual must be able to performeach essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed beloware representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or abilityrequired.

EXPERIENCE:

Experiencein Audio Video hardware, software, network troubleshooting, basic tointermediate operating system functionality or equivalent trainingand/or education is necessary. Operating systems include: Windows,OS X, iOS & Android. This position also requires basic tointermediate functionality or equivalent training and/or educationin Control Systems and Digital Signal Processing including but notlimited to: Crestron Control Systems, QSC, BSS, and otherProcessing. Certifications held in any of the aforementioned systemswill be highly regarded.

COMMUNICATIONSKILLS:

Customerinteractions must be handled with diplomacy and tact. Individualmust be able to gauge the customer's technical abilty andcommunicate with them in appropriate technical or non-technicallanguage in a non-condescending manner.

DECISIONMAKING/JUDGEMENT:

Thisposition involves projects and/or assignments requiring considerabledecision-making authority regarding procedures, plans, andschedules. Although there are sometimes problem-solving guidelinesfor particular problems, there may be no existing procedures orinstructions for those problems. The technician may be on their ownin solving problems and determining satisfactory solutions. Abilityto work independently and in a team setting is imperative.
