Job summary

Alliance Defending Freedom seeks a Legal Counsel to lead complex free speech litigation matters. You will report to the Senior Counsel, Director of Center for Free Speech, and assist the Free Speech team with minimal oversight.

The role involves developing strategy, drafting briefs, conducting advanced research, taking depositions, and advising on laws and regulations for individuals and businesses. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• J.D. with active license in at least one US state bar.
• Minimum 1+ years of complex litigation experience.

Responsibilities

• Litigate complex lawsuits in support of free speech.
• Develop strategy, arguments, and testimony for case presentations.
• Produce high-quality briefs, motions, and memoranda; review and file briefs.
• Conduct advanced research for free speech advocacy and conduct depositions.
• Represent ADF’s free speech advocacy in the public sphere and interact with media.
• Provide legal advice on laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
