Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a strategic Fraud Lead to define and scale our payments abuse program. You will own the taxonomy, classify and escalate cases, and coordinate with product and engineering to implement durable controls.

The role emphasizes proactive detection and clear, data-driven decision making to protect customers and partners. You will partner with payments teams to optimize dispute workflows, quantify losses, and communicate insights to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Deep payment fraud experience in fintech, marketplace, or platform.
• Experience building or scaling a fraud program from early stages.
• Working knowledge of payment-network and dispute mechanics.
• Ability to own an area with ruthless prioritization and iterative shipping.
• Experience quantifying fraud losses and control efficacy with data.
• Strong written communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Excellent judgment and collaboration in evolving priorities.

Responsibilities

• Define the fraud & scams policy taxonomy and how cases are classified, prioritized, and escalated
• Investigate and dismantle organized abuse rings, converting findings into durable controls
• Stand up proactive fraud detection and customer-facing communication flows for fraudulent organization cases
• Build the dispute and chargeback strategy in partnership with payments and card-network partners
• Quantify fraud losses and control efficacy to drive investment decisions
• Author the contractor playbook for fraud review and own QA of scaled output
• Keep up to date with emerging AI policy enforcement best practices, and use these to inform our decision-making and workflows
