Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a Fraud Strategy Data Analyst to provide enterprise-level analytical insight into fraud decisioning performance and risk reduction across deposits, digital, payments and account lifecycles.

The role develops and applies frameworks to quantify impact, analyzes trends, and partners with Fraud Strategy, Risk, Operations, Digital, Technology and AI/ML teams to drive measurable fraud and business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Typically more than eight years of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Leverage SAS/SQL/Python to extract, transform and analyze large-scale fraud data for decision-making.
• Analyze fraud performance across deposits, digital, payments, authentication and account lifecycles.
• Evaluate alert effectiveness, decision outcomes, false positives, and queue dynamics.
• Assess end-to-end fraud operations to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Develop fraud tradeoff, loss avoidance and performance frameworks to quantify impact.
• Maintain methodologies for measuring fraud benefits, costs and customer friction.
• Conduct advanced analytics and root-cause investigations to support optimization.
• Monitor fraud trends and risks, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Quantify benefits, costs and risks of fraud initiatives to prioritize investments.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to align priorities and drive outcomes.
• Support predictive analytics initiatives and ongoing benefit tracking.
• Develop dashboards and executive-level insights on fraud outcomes and performance.
• Translate findings into actionable recommendations for leadership.
