Job summary

Aleron, through Acara Solutions, seeks a Fraud Specialist for a Rochester, NY-based, 6-month contract. You will join a fraud and financial crime team to investigate reported activity and help protect clients and the organization from losses.

You will coordinate with financial institutions to freeze accounts, recover illicit funds, and document investigations. Prior fraud/financial crime or compliance experience is preferred, with a degree and 1+ years of relevant work.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required in Criminal Justice or Economic Crime Investigation or Finance or Business.
  • 1+ years of experience in fraud, investigations, banking, compliance, business, or finance.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate inbound fraud concerns and escalations from clients and internal partners.
  • Coordinate with financial institutions to freeze accounts and provide investigation results.
  • Analyze check fraud, counterfeit checks, and forged endorsements with internal teams to identify trends.
  • Assess exposure of personally identifiable information and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Evaluate high-risk clients and transactions to mitigate fraud exposure.

  • Evaluate high-risk clients and transactions, conduct research to assess legitimacy and creditworthiness, document cases, and take appropriate action to mitigate fraud exposure.
