Job Summary: We’re hiring an experienced Solution Architect for a regional banking client to design and lead the re-architecture of the bank’s home-grown Enterprise Fraud Layer (EFL). The platform is currently .NET/MS heavy and is being rewritten using Java Spring Boot to improve performance and reliability. This role sits at the intersection of fraud domain expertise, cloud-native architecture, and system integration — you’ll define the target architecture, stitch product and in-house components together (BioCatch, RSA, Prove) and ensure the solution meets enterprise and InfoSec standards.
Top Responsibilities
- Architect and design the Enterprise Fraud Layer (EFL): rule engines, decisioning workflows, and real-time transaction monitoring. Assess the current ecosystem and define the migration/modernization path to consolidate disparate systems.
- Design scalable, resilient fraud detection solutions supporting omnichannel use cases (web, mobile, voice). Integrate BioCatch, PinDrop, Actimize, RSA and other fraud platforms — justify integration choices and expected customer/colleague outcomes.
- Own and present architectural designs to InfoSec, Architecture Review Boards, and senior stakeholders to ensure governance, compliance, and regulatory alignment.
- Oversee event streaming and data ingestion pipelines (Kafka or similar), API orchestration for fraud signals, and performance considerations across the solution.
- Spend ~40–50% of your time communicating architecture rationale, tradeoffs, and roadmaps to stakeholders, engineering teams, and enterprise architects.
- Produce diagrams, artifacts and decision documents that clearly show integrations, workflows, and recommended consolidation strategies.
Required Skills
- 7+ years in Solution Architecture with a software development background — you’re not expected to be a day-to-day coder, but must understand how code is written and how components interact.
- Deep knowledge of financial crimes/fraud domain within banking — specific experience with Actimize customer identity fraud & authentication, and RSA rules-based systems.
- Integration & ecosystem evaluation experience — proven ability to create diagrams and artifacts showing how fraud systems integrate, where signals flow, and how to make decisions to consolidate/enhance capabilities.
- Strong communication & influencing skills — able to convince and align difficult stakeholders and enterprise architects across business, security, and engineering.
- Cloud-native architecture experience — AWS, Azure, or GCP; microservices; event-driven systems (Kafka or equivalent).
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Azure Cloud experience
- Prior work with BioCatch and PinDrop (voice biometrics / device fingerprinting).
