Job summary

Plaid is hiring a Fraud Intelligence Analyst in San Francisco to lead complex investigations and translate findings into improved detection with product impact. You’ll partner with Data Science, ML, and Product teams to shape fraud capabilities and model inputs, while monitoring signals at scale.

The role emphasizes research-driven detection, reporting, and knowledge leadership within Plaid’s Fraud organization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of applied fraud experience in fintech or payments.
• Investigator mindset with pattern synthesis and hypothesis testing.
• End-to-end investigation experience across accounts, devices, and identities.
• Post-containment incident response with root cause analysis.
• Dark and grey-web navigation experience and ability to translate intelligence into insights.
• Strong communication to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex fraud investigations across identities, accounts, devices, and transactions.
• Support day-to-day fraud operations including SEVs and alert triage.
• Reconstruct attacker sequences and hypothesize intent and tooling.
• Translate investigation outcomes into actionable detection improvements.
• Collaborate with Data Science, ML/AI, and Product teams on labeling and feature sets.
• Document workflows, attack classifications, and proof-of-concept logic.
