Job summary

Educational Federal Credit Union in Miami seeks an experienced fraud investigator to support investigations involving electronic/cyber systems, debit and credit cards, new accounts, and identity theft. Qualifications

  • 2 years of prior Credit Union or Banking experience.
  • Prior Fraud or Loss Prevention experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Process actionable alerts/fraud notifications and conduct research into alerts as needed.
  • Analyze and validate Identity Theft and other fraud claims.
  • Review membership information and identification documents for discrepancies to determine validity or obtain support to accept the deposit.
  • Review accounts and transactions for fraudulent activity and take actions to prevent losses, such as restricting an account.
  • Assist members who are victims of scams/account compromise to resolve issues and safeguard their accounts.
  • Accurately record data and remarks in core system and analytics software used for investigations.
  • Prepare member correspondence related to the outcome of investigations.
  • Stay informed about current fraud trends in the financial services industry and various fraud schemes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
