Job summary

The Vanguard Group is seeking a Fraud Analytics Specialist within Global Risk and Security. You will execute analytics assignments from requirements through implementation, testing, and monitoring, developing offline detections and leading actionable leads for investigations.

You will monitor performance, analyze transaction and account data, build dashboards, and collaborate with risk teams to improve detection effectiveness. Hybrid work model in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years related work experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Intermediate SQL skills and data querying across large datasets.
• Experience with Python or similar analytical language.
• Experience building dashboards/reports in Tableau or similar.

Responsibilities

• Executes fraud analytics assignments from requirements gathering and data assessment through analysis, implementation support, measurement, and monitoring.
• Develops, tests, and maintains offline fraud detections that generate actionable leads for investigative teams, with guidance on more complex efforts.
• Monitors detection performance using metrics such as precision, false positives, alert volumes, loss exposure, and prevented or avoided impact.
• Analyzes account, client, transactional, and case data to identify fraud trends, anomalies, attributes, and signatures.
• Provides analytical and forensic support for fraud incidents, control gaps, emerging typologies, and investigations.
• Develops and maintains dashboards, recurring reports, loss reporting, benchmarking analyses, and fraud performance products.
• Performs data quality checks and validates data completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness used in reporting and detections.
• Documents methodologies, data lineage, testing results, and procedures.
• Translates analytical findings into clear insights for fraud operations, risk partners, technology teams, and stakeholders.
• Collaborates with senior analysts and business partners to validate approaches and resolve data issues.
• Partners with investigative teams to obtain disposition feedback and improve detection effectiveness.
• Contributes to cross-functional fraud initiatives and data modernization efforts.
• Participates in special projects and other duties as assigned.
