The Fraud Data Analyst role focuses on investigating attacks, building dashboards, and refining mitigations across fraud operations, data science, and product teams. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in fraud analytics, strong SQL skills, and experience with BI tools; proactive and able to influence decisions with data.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Data Analyst (Fraud) or similar role (can be compensated by accomplishments)
• Advanced proficiency with SQL and complex queries
• Experience in fraud, risk, or financial services
• Proactive mindset and curiosity to investigate unusual patterns
• Some exposure to Python or scripting for data manipulation
• Proficiency with a BI tool (PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, Superset, Redash)
• Strong stakeholder management and ability to influence decisions with data
• Comfort in fast-paced, cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with spreadsheet tools (Excel/Sheets)
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
• Experience with data governance and version control is a plus

Responsibilities

• Investigate fraud attacks, quantify impact, and present findings to drive prioritisation
• Propose and refine rule-based mitigations with fraud ops and engineering
• Build and maintain dashboards to monitor fraud trends and metrics
• Collaborate with fraud operations, data scientists, engineers, and product managers to translate insights into action
• Identify emerging patterns and flag risks early
• Assist in data governance and version control practices if applicable
