Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking a Fraud AI/Data Consultant to support a fraud detection project for a state government. This role requires US citizenship and Washington DC metro area residency, with a strong focus on scalable AI, data analytics, and governance.

You will design AI solutions, build ML models, and deliver client-ready analyses while mentoring junior staff and presenting findings to leadership. Competitive hourly compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years of AI, data science, analytics, or engineering experience.
• 3+ years in a fraud/payment integrity-related role.
• Strong Python/R/SQL development and data modeling skills.
• Experience with data formats (CSV, JSON, XML, Parquet).
• Hands-on ML model development and validation at scale.
• Experience with PowerBI/Tableau/Looker for visualization.
• Ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.

Description

The Judge Group is currently seeking a Fraud AI / Data Consultant to support a fraud detection project with a state government. US citizenship required, must be located in the Washington, DC metro area.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable AI and data solutions from requirements to deployment
• Develop, test, and tune fraud prevention and detection rules in a variety of programming languages
• Develop and optimize machine learning models and analytics workflows
• Lead data analytics efforts in detecting fraud, waste, abuse, and improper payments and identifying key areas to target for program/payment integrity improvements
• Partner with clients to identify AI use cases and translate business needs into solutions
• Own client deliverables and contribute to executive‑level presentations
• Mentor C2 consultants and review technical work
• Ensure solutions align with governance, security, and responsible AI standards (as applicable)

What You Will Need

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university
• Based on our contractual obligations, candidate must be located within the United States and US Citizen
• 5+ years of experience in AI, data science, analytics, or engineering
• 3+ years of experience in a fraud/payment integrity-related role
• Strong development expertise in Python/R, SQL , and data modeling
• Strong statistical and data analytics expertise
• Proficiency working with various data structure formats (CSV/TXT, JSON, XML, Parquet, etc.)
• Hands‑on experience developing, testing, and validating machine learning and other AI models at scale
• Experience with data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
• Proven ability to communicate complex concepts to non‑technical audiences
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
• Experience with applying data analytics and artificial intelligence in the financial crime compliance and/or fraud, waste, and abuse prevention space
