Job summary

Stripe seeks a senior abuse operations professional to lead incident response for product abuse and fraud, driving deep-dive analyses and automation to safeguard the platform. You will partner across security, data science and legal teams to detect, investigate and remediate high-risk incidents at scale.

The role requires 10+ years in security-focused incident response, strong Python/SQL skills, and experience with large data analysis to identify fraud patterns.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of incident response in security, product abuse or trust domains.
• 10+ years analyzing large data sets for fraud detection.
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge of Python and SQL, and familiarity with other programming languages.
• Experience with log analysis, network security, digital forensics, and incident response investigations.
• Ability to communicate results clearly and focus on impact.
• Ability to think creatively to reduce risk in a complex environment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate, mitigate, and remediate urgent fraud incidents (e.g., ATO, card testing).
• Analyze high-risk accounts to identify fraudulent merchants, card testing, and account takeovers.
• Lead root cause analyses to identify gaps in systems and drive enhancements for fraud risks.
• Streamline incident response capabilities with clear tooling and processes.
• Collaborate with security, fraud and data science teams to build agentic solutions at scale.
• Communicate with legal and policy teams to assess and mitigate risks, under pressure.
• Mentor teammates and champion quality standards within the team.
