Job summary

CliftonLarsonAllen LLP is seeking an experienced Framework Developer Lead to guide architecture and development of core application frameworks within our Information Technology team in Houston, TX. You will collaborate with business analysts, project managers, and developers to shape technical requirements and deliver scalable solutions.

The role combines development leadership with hands‑on framework engineering, guiding best practices, reviews, and tool selection across CLA environments.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience required.
• 6 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of core application frameworks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.
• Establish and promote best practices for coding standards and design patterns.
• Mentor and guide junior developers with technical oversight.

Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment. Most important, demonstrate a high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. This role combines the functions of a Development Lead with framework engineering responsibilities for all CLA environments. In addition, this role will lead the strategy and vision for the Framework Engineering Team. This role ensures efficient development, stable framework design, and thorough monitoring and tooling.

Framework Developer Lead role

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of core application frameworks to support business needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and other developers, to define technical requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Establish and promote best practices for coding standards, design patterns, and software development methodologies.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, providing technical oversight and support for professional development.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure the quality, performance, and security of application frameworks.
• Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to enhance efficiency and capability of development processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to framework architecture and application integration.
• Document framework designs, architecture decisions, and development processes for future reference and team knowledge sharing.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Utilize a consistent framework development approach across products/projects to improve all phases of the process and ensure end-to-end quality, reporting and dashboards across functions.
• Manage and oversee the framework team velocity, issues, risks and bottlenecks and related projects.

What you will need

• 5 years of relevant experience required
• 6 years of relevant experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Technical Competencies

• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git and command line interface
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) and YAML markup
• Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, C#)
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GC
• Proficiency in CI/CD tools such as Azure Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkin
• Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet)
• Familiarity with Azure Boards or similar work management systems such as Jira or GitLab Issues
• Strong understanding of cloud computing and containerization technologies
• Solid grasp of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools.
