Job summary

Serta Simmons Bedding, LLC is seeking an assembler for the frame build process in Hazleton, PA. You will obtain and inspect wood, position boards, and use a nail gun to assemble frames while maintaining safety and efficiency on the plant floor.

The role requires basic English literacy, ability to read a ruler and calculate fractions, and a minimum age of 18. Prior assembly or manufacturing experience is preferred, with an emphasis on quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Basic ability to read, write and understand English.
• Basic ability to read/use ruler, add subtract and calculate fractions.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and inspect pieces of wood to be used for frame build process.
• Turn, grasp boards, and place boards in holding fixture.
• Repeat the motions for the boards required to complete the frames.
• Operate air driven nail gun and nail boards together while positioning boards.
• Inspect assembled frames for defects and perform repairs as needed.
• Move finished frames to appropriate areas and maintain a neat workstation.
• Operate band saw to cut lumber for special sizes as needed.
• Perform related duties as assigned across plant areas.

• Reload nail gun as needed and changes locators on table to accommodate different size frames
• Move carts of finished frames to appropriate areas
• Perform all related duties of the frame build function according to established safety and efficiency procedures.
• Maintain workstation in a neat, clean and orderly fashion
• Operate band saw to cut lumber for special sizes as needed
• Perform functions in other areas of the Plant as requested
• Perform related duties as assigned
