Job summary

Onsite IT is seeking a U.S.-based Fractional CTO/Technology Partner to guide clients on technical needs, shape actionable plans, and lead conversations through project delivery. This is a part-time, client-facing partnership rather than a traditional CTO role.

You will serve as the primary U.S. representative for a dedicated development team, helping clients define requirements, evaluate solutions, and ensure successful delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level technical guidance on software development projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers on requirements, architecture, scope, and estimates.
• Help clients evaluate development approaches, technologies, and project priorities.
• Support technical discussions involving web apps, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, APIs, AI integration, and automation.
• Participate in qualified client conversations generated through our business development process.
• Review and approve proposals or communications made on your behalf.
• Represent the team's capabilities accurately and professionally.
• Help convert suitable opportunities into active projects.
• Coordinate with the delivery team to maintain client satisfaction and project alignment.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for U.S.-based clients.
• Participate in discovery calls, project discussions, and client meetings.
• Understand business objectives and translate client requirements into actionable technical plans.
• Build professional relationships and maintain clear communication with clients.
• Work remotely with international software development teams.
• Maintain visibility into active projects, client discussions, and business development activity.

We're looking for an experienced, U.S. based technology professional to join us as a Fractional CTO / Technology Partner.

This is a part-time, client-facing partnership rather than a traditional full-time CTO position.

You'll serve as the primary U.S. representative for a dedicated development team, helping clients define their technical needs, evaluate solutions, and successfully deliver projects.

Your primary responsibility is to provide technical guidance, making actionable plans, and lead client conversations throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Advisory and Solution Planning

• Provide high-level technical guidance on software development projects.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers on requirements, architecture, scope, and estimates.
• Help clients evaluate development approaches, technologies, and project priorities.
• Support technical discussions involving web applications, SaaS platforms, cloud infrastructure, APIs, AI integration, and automation.

Qualifications

Required

• Currently based in the United States.
• Strong professional background in software engineering, software architecture, IT consulting, or technical leadership.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand technical requirements and explain solutions in business terms.
• Comfortable collaborating with distributed and international engineering teams.
• Available for part-time client meetings and ongoing project coordination.

Preferred

• Experience as a CTO, Fractional CTO, VP of Engineering, Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, Solutions Architect, or independent technology consultant.
• Experience working with startups, small businesses, or technology consulting firms.
• Knowledge of modern web applications, cloud systems, DevOps, AI/ML, and software delivery processes.
• Previous experience leading client discovery, technical presales, consulting engagements, or outsourced development projects.
