Security1stconsulting is seeking a senior-level advisor to serve as fractional CTO and CISO for a county Sheriff's Office. The role reports to the Sheriff and collaborates with the IT Services Division to guide strategic technology and cybersecurity initiatives in a government environment.

Responsibilities include setting vision, evaluating enterprise solutions, managing IT budgets, and coordinating with federal agencies such as HSI, FBI, IC3, and CISA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field (e.g., IT, cybersecurity, business).
• 10-15+ years managing enterprise networks or equivalent government/regulatory environments.
• Experience handling CJIS-regulated data, digital evidence, and sensitive law enforcement infrastructure.
• Proven ability to deliver actionable cybersecurity risk assessments to executive leadership.

Responsabilités

• Provide strategic technology leadership and set the Sheriff's IT vision and strategy.
• Lead enterprise technology program delivery and IT budgeting.
• Oversee network security, patching, incident response, and risk mitigation.
• Coordinate with federal agencies (HSI, FBI, IC3, CISA) and County IT services.
• Ensure CJIS compliance and governance across departments.
