Job summary

BARNES GROUP INC. WEST CHESTER DIVISION is seeking a skilled FPI Inspector to support material flow across the manufacturing process. The role includes ordering purchased parts, coordinating outside processing and ensuring inventory accuracy to meet day-to-day needs.

Essential duties include routine inspections, visual checks, and penetrant testing, with documentation of results. A minimum of 2 years in quality inspection and ability to read operation sheets are required.

Qualifications

• 2 years quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret operation sheets and follow complex instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of materials, parts in process and finished parts.
• Perform routine tests on materials to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Conduct visual inspections for defects and record results on inspection forms.
• Inspect parts using penetrant methods to identify defects and report findings.
• Maintain inventory control transactions; assure inventory accuracy for smooth production flow.

Barnes Aerospace West Chester Division has a challenging and rewarding job opportunity for a FPI Inspector. The ideal candidate will perform a variety of duties supporting material flow throughout the manufacturing process, which includes ordering purchased parts, outside processing services and coordinating inventory control transactions to ensure inventory is on hand to support the day today needs of the business. In addition, this individual will have responsibility for standard work and inventory accuracy of material transactions and all inventory including consumables. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs routine checks, tests, gauging and instrument inspections of materials, parts in process and finished parts.
• Performs routine tests on materials, goods in process or finished goods where results are compared with company quality standards.
• Performs visual inspection for obvious defects.
• Records results on inspection forms or charts and reports number of defects found.
• Required to inspect parts using fluorescent penetrant and black light to find defects.
• Some lifting of items of various weights, both assisted and unassisted.
• Experience in understanding of non-destructive validation methodology (visual, penetrant, etc).
• Drive standardized continuous improvement metrics across the FPI disciplines.
• Blueprint Reading/customer requirements flow down.
• Understanding of Regulatory requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 2 years Quality Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Able to communicate verbally and / or in writing with other employees, team members and supervision as necessary.
• Must be able to read and interpret operation sheets and follow complex instructions and/or directions.
• Ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
• Ability to read & react to verbal and non-verbal communication while maintaining complete professionalism.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
