Job description

Job Description

An employer is seeking a FPGA Engineer for a long-term opportunity in the Mason, OH area. This FPGA Engineer will be expected to work on site on a 9-80 schedule and participate in FPGA developments including requirements, system design, detailed design, and hardware integration on cutting-edge systems for new product development. The diverse product portfolio provides opportunities to work on ultra-high speed, ultra-large format infrared cameras, launch vehicle avionics, and orbital vehicle communications. The main responsibilities of the FPGA engineer will be a focus on product development for design, implementation, verification, and integration of VHDL components as well as participating in VHDL peer reviews. This is a cross functional role and communication with both internal and external customers will be required in addition to the analysis of component synthesis, timing, and clock domain crossings. The main deliverables will come in the form of internal design reviews, project management and technical estimating. Broader breakdown includes: coding, simulation, documentation, iteration through engineering product lifecycle, 75% coding/design, 25% in the lab for simulation.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.

Qualified candidates will receive consideration for employment regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex (including pregnancy), sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, marital status, national origin, ancestry, genetic factors, age, disability, protected veteran status, military or uniformed service member status, or any other status or characteristic protected by applicable laws, regulations, and ordinances.

  • Ability to independently develop the VHDL logic that goes inside an FPGA, rather than only writing software that interfaces with an FPGA or verifying another engineer’s design.
  • End-to-end FPGA development experience, including:
    • Requirements and architecture
    • VHDL coding
    • Simulation and verification
    • Synthesis and implementation
    • FPGA build generation
