Job summary

AMD in San Jose, CA seeks an experienced FPGA prototyping engineer to lead architecture definition, platform strategy, and cross‑team collaboration to enable complex SoC bring‑up. You will guide partitioning, high‑speed interfaces, and debug infrastructure across Architecture, RTL Design, Verification, Emulation, Software and Firmware teams.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in FPGA prototyping, leadership experience, and hands‑on skills with HAPS or Protium, PCIe, DDR and other high‑speed

Qualifications

• 12+ years of FPGA design, implementation and SoC prototyping.
• Proven leadership of FPGA prototyping for large semiconductor programs.
• Hands-on experience with HAPS or Protium.
• Knowledge of PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, USB, and HBM high-speed interfaces.
• Strong SystemVerilog/Verilog design and verification.
• Understanding of CPUs, caches, NoC/interconnects and AXI/PCIe protocols.

Responsibilities

• Define and own FPGA prototyping architecture and platform strategy.
• Lead RTL adaptation, implementation flows, and verification infra.
• Develop regression environments and system-level debug capabilities.
• Collaborate across Architecture, RTL Design, Verification, Emulation, Software, and Firmware teams.
• Provide technical leadership through reviews and mentoring.
• Partner with tool vendors to drive technology adoption.
