Job summary

V2X, Inc. is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to join our Embedded Solutions team. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of FPGA-based solutions, including RTL design, simulation, and integration on custom hardware for defense and aerospace applications.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of FPGA/digital logic experience, proficiency with VHDL/Verilog, and familiarity with major toolchains. You will work in a collaborative Agile environment and engage in hardware bring-up, verification,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Approximately 2–5 years professional experience in FPGA or digital logic design.
• Proficient with VHDL and/or Verilog for synthesizable RTL design.
• Experience with at least one major FPGA toolchain (Xilinx Vivado/Vitis, Intel Quartus, Microchip Libero).
• Experience with lab-based troubleshooting and board bring-up, including oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Familiarity with version control and configuration management tools (Git, Azure DevOps).
• Effective communication and teamwork; commitment to continuous technical growth.
• U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and validate FPGA logic solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog for modern FPGA platforms.
• Develop and integrate FPGA-based interfaces and processing pipelines for high-speed I/O such as LVDS and DDR.
• Create and execute simulation testbenches (ModelSim/Questa) and support debugging with on-chip tools.
• Contribute to timing constraint development and timing closure with senior engineers.
• Support hardware bring-up, board-level verification, and troubleshooting with lab tools.
• Participate in system-level integration and verification with embedded processors and external devices.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation per V2X processes.
• Participate in Agile development teams using MS Teams, Azure DevOps, and shared environments.
• Engage in peer code/design reviews and drive continuous improvement with focus on safety and quality.
